If you are hosting a screening of a film - In-person, Live Virtual, or Event VOD - you have the option to make your event free for your audience by paying a licensing fee upfront.

How is my fee determined?

Two factors determine your licensing fee:

  1. Organization type

  2. Audience Size

You input this information when creating your event at the following steps:

Who determines the pricing?

The pricing is set in advance by the rights holder. They are given a rate card to fill out with their audience sizes, types, and pricing. Here's an example of a typical rate card for a documentary:

Why are the rates set like this?

You should have the most fair fee for your organization type and audience size, while also compensating the film creators and distributors for their investment in making the film.

What if my event is larger than 1000?

If your event goes over the max amount with an assigned fee, there is a per person rate determined in advance, and you will pay per person. You can also contact us at hello@kinema.com for custom options.

Can I see my fee in advance?

Yes. Start the booking process for your desired film by inputting the above information. After entering the Capacity, click the Update button and your fee will be generated.
