Paying a licensing fee upfront:
Makes the screening automatically free for your guests. You cannot pay a licensing fee and also sell tickets on the Kinema platform.
If your event is in-person, and you are required or prefer to use your own RSVP system, you may select to pay the licensing fee and then sell tickets off platform as long as this option hasn't been restricted by the filmmaker. Ensure that you make your Kinema event page private to avoid confusion.
You may also choose to select this option if you do not plan to sell tickets at your event at all and/or if you do not need your guests to register on an event page.
Selling tickets:
You'd like to make money from your screening.
You agree to the filmmaker's ticket split of 45% to host / 45% to filmmaker / 10% to Kinema and you will sell all tickets through the Kinema event page exclusively.
You'll need to set up a payout account after you book your event. Your event will not be able to be published live until the payout account is set up.
Both options will generate a Kinema event page automatically. If you do not need this event page, please change your screening to Private in your event management dashboard. You cannot pay a licensing fee and also sell tickets on the Kinema platform.
If you are unsure which to select, please reach out to support@kinema.com for assistance.
