*Series and episodic content is a new feature being rolled out to select Filmmakers if you're interested please reach out to films@kinema.com

Go to the Kinema Filmmakers page and click on Get Started

If you don't have a Kinema account you will be prompted to create one.

Create your Organization

Add your Organization Name (Legal Name) and Display Name (name that will appear on your film pages)

You likely will only have one organization.

Example: If you are an independent filmmaker, it will likely be your name or the name of your production company as the organization.

All members of an Organization have access to their associated film’s data, bookings and payouts. Members are added to an organization at the request of the licensor. Contact your Kinema representative to add more members.

Select your Subscription Plan

Our subscription plans were created to provide flexible options for our filmmakers based on different needs. All of our plans allow you share in revenue. You have the choice to pay less up front or participate in greater revenue share. You can also choose to be billed monthly or annually.

Once you select a Plan and click on Add Film you will be directed to Stripe, our secure 3rd party payment processor.

Enter your credit card information (Google and Apple Pay also accepted depending on device/browser used), review and agree to Licensing Terms and Conditions and User and Content Guidelines, and then click to Subscribe.

Once complete you'll see a confirmation message and then be directed to your Dashboard.

You can now begin adding your Series by clicking on Add Media and selecting Add Series

Most episodes are priced between $1.50 and $4.99, with season passes typically ranging from $19.99 to $59.99 or more depending on the number of episodes in your season.

You can also enable Sliding Scale Pricing by clicking on Enable Pay What You Wish. This enables audience members to adjust what they pay to rent your film but within the confines of what you've set.

You will be asked to add the Minimum, Suggested, and Maximum Rental Price to provide a range for guests to Pay What they Wish. Note that the Minimum for an episode can not go lower than $1.50.

  • Minimum Rental Price: This is the lowest amount you're allowing the viewer to pay to rent your film. You cannot go lower than $1.50, which is the platform minimum.*

  • Suggested Rental Price: You would want audiences to pay this if there was no sliding scale available.

  • Maximum Rental Price: The absolutely highest you would allow someone to pay to watch the film. Anything up to $500, which is the platform cap.

Pay What You Wish is completely free to turn on. Kinema's per-rental fees of 99 cents + cc fees stay the same, so you can keep any increases in rental prices.

Accessing the Film/Series Onboarding Tool once you're Subscribed

  • Log into your Kinema account.

  • Drag your mouse over your Initials in the top right corner and click on Dashboard.

You will then see all your Films and Series. If you are associated with multiple production companies or distributors, then you will see more than one organization listed. You can select a different organization by clicking on the default organization name in the left navigation menu.

Once you've selected the correct organization, select the film you want to edit. Then it is the same process to edit your film as it was to Onboard. Though if you want to unpublish your page you will need to contact your Kinema representative.

If you are an existing Kinema subscriber you may see this message as we migrate all accounts to the new dashboard. Please email your Kinema representative with any edits at films@kinema.com.
